HGLP is a diverse social group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender parents, their partners and their kids, and also parents in planning. Some of us are single and some of us are in relationships. Some of us are very open about being gay parents and some of us are in the process of coming out to our children and the world. We became parents through previous heterosexual relationships, adoption, donor insemination, surrogacy, foster care, or other arrangements. Some of us are still are in the planning stage and some have babies, toddlers, elementary-age kids and teenagers, or grown kids.

HGLP plans these monthly events:

Wednesday Family Dinner

Wednesday Family Dinners are held at The Buffalo Grille, 3116 Bissonnet just east of Buffalo Speedway, around 6:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. There are no agendas, tasks or committee meetings. This monthly event is meant to be an informal evening for newcomers and longtime members alike to gather with our families and meet, mingle, socialize with each other and share stories.

Parent's Night Out

A night out that is downright fun time for parents and those considering parenthood. We typically meet once a month for food, drink, socialization, and laughter. It is also a good place to talk to other parents about GLBT parenting. See where we are meeting  this month.

Triangles & Hearts Newsletter

The HGLP Newsletter gives details about these events, as well as family news, pictures of activities and contact numbers.

The HGLP website is an offshoot from the newsletter. Aside from the newsletter, events pages, and pictures the web site offers:

            •           Families can now  join HGLP on our website by going to the join page and filling out a membership form!

            •           To find area resources, HGLP offers the advertiser's page as well as a resources page.  In the ad pages one can easily get placed on our newsletter and web ad pages for one low price.             •           E-mail is being used extensively in HGLP to send reminders of events or other information of interest to GLB&T parents. If you would like to get these messages please subscribe to HGLPEvents through our Yahoo Group.”
